Parent-Tot Program
The Tots program is a branch of the preschool where parents participate with their two-year-old child in both planned and unstructured activities that allow children to learn and explore through their senses. Each day has a theme that allows children to explore stories, songs, dances, art and other sensory activities relative to the theme of the day. Alongside their grown up, children socialize with other children and start recognizing concepts and practices that help ease the transition to preschool. Our tot program has a separate classroom from our 3s and 4s classroom.
Our Parent-Tot program meets either Mondays or Wednesdays from 9:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Children must turn 18 months on or before September 1st. Children joining the Tots class for the first time in the second semester must be 2 on or before February 1st.
Typical Day at Tots
9:45a-10:15a: Free choice time: explore the play-doh table, painting easels, sensory table, and other toys.
10:15-10:30a: Circle time: read theme book, dance, sing, etc.
10:30-10:50a: Craft/art time
10:50a: Wash hands and clean up
11a: Snack
11:15a: Get hand stamp and go home

Being a part of a co-op preschool has been such a special experience for my family. It’s helped my children to enjoy school and I’ve even learned things I can apply at home to be a more effective parent. We love Troy Co-op!
